Customer Services: A Stage Play
Genres: Drama, Religious Satire
Length: 45 minutes
Clara - a twenty-something mortician - wakes up in purgatory with a question on her lips: why does the afterlife look like a call centre?
On her first day at her new job, she meets Gabriel – her exuberant, judgemental work colleague who has been stuck in Customer Services for far too long. Together, they must listen to the complaints of several people still living on Earth, and try their best to rectify each situation. However, with each call, Clara beings to question different aspects of her previous life, realising just how much of it she took it for granted.
You see, not too long before her arrival in customer services, a devastating loss caused Clara to lose her faith, in God and an afterlife. Faced with the possibility of being stuck in purgatory forever, she must learn to let go of her past, and find peace in a second existence that she didn't believe existed.
And she might just help Gabriel in the process.
This is a story of hope, forgiveness, and overcoming our deepest fears.
With a side of death-related humour for good measure.
